Challenge. The walks on our day tours are challenging, they rate from moderate to difficult!

Nature. A good level of agility, balance and fitness are required to climb over rocks, which can be slippery with water and sand and have uneven surfaces. There are no formed walkways or hand rails – this is Nature!

Children. Children are welcome on our tours, however, our day tours are generally not suitable for families with very young children (under 5 years of age), unless they have undertaken similar bushwalks previously. Why not consider a private tour to make the experience enjoyable for the whole family?

Information. Make sure to visit the Kakadu National Park website for more detailed information on where to stay and what to see while visiting the area.

Location. Check out our Google map for sites and distances.

What to bring on tour

Hat. Always essential in the Tropics.

Personal water bottle. We keep cool water refills on hand.

Comfortable walking shoes with good grip. Be prepared for rocks and boulders, there are no boardwalks here!

Camera with spare batteries/film. There is ample opportunity to get the perfect shot, check out our photo album for inspiration!

Bathing costume and towel. Let the cool, clear waters of Kakadu’s iconic waterfalls refresh you. Bring your goggles you may just see some freshwater fish!

Sun protection. For the sake of the environment we recommend UV-protective clothing instead of sunscreen, whenever possible.

Kakadu Park Pass. Visit the Kakadu National Park ticketing website to purchase your park passes online.

The weather

Storm brewing during the 'build up'

Storm brewing during the ‘build up’

During the cooler months of the Top End’s dry season, daytime temperatures are pleasant and the humidity is generally low.

With the start of the tropical wet season around October, temperatures and humidity start to soar!

The mean maximum temperature for Jabiru in November is 36.8 deg Celsius, however, in the sandstone gorges of Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls shade is sparse and the temperatures often reach 45 deg Celsius and above.

As the health and safety of our passengers is our highest priority, we reserve the right to cancel all tours due to the weather conditions.

Please see the Bureau of Meteorology’s table on average weather conditions in Jabiru.
